A rather scary book.....

......Word Play Quilts by Tonya Ricucci.....

I have had this book for several months and after reading it and looking at the lovely quilt photos in the book I decided it was too scary to even attempt.

Well, yesterday at Yorkshire Modern Quilt Guild sit and sew day - I took the book, and some fabric, my rotary cutter and sewing machine and......

I started with the T and just went for it.....

Several letters later.....

Guess who I am making the quilt for?
H and I were making a little project that H found in her quilting magazine and it is very cute!  l took mine to show and tell at YMGQ yesterday....

Again I used the mock piped binding.

H hasn't finished her foxy yet!
My friend's son made this 10 years ago for my exhibition - I finally returned it to her on Friday!
Thank you for the comment regarding the subscription to Modern Quilting Mag - will certainly follow that up.  More details later.....

Thanks Tonya - once I actually started following your brilliant instructions and doing it at the same time it all worked out well. I have plans to do more letting on quilts now - you've got me hooked!
